Etisalat slashes prices on BlackBerry
UAE telco operator announces reductions on its BlackBerry 8100 and 8700 handsets.

UAE telco operator Etisalat has announced it has cut prices of its BlackBerry 8100 and 8700 handsets.
The BlackBerry 8700 is now retailing for US$564 (2070 dirhams) versus the original price of US$673 (2470 dirhams), while the 8100 model is selling at US$490 (1800 dirhams) instead of US$569 (2090 dirhams).
Etisalat reported last month that it now has 14,000 subscribers to the BlackBerry service it launched in May last year together with BlackBerry developer Research in Motion.
In addition to the UAE, BlackBerry is available in Saudi Arabia through Mobily, and in Bahrain through Batelco.
