The UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has set up a committee aimed at facilitating the sharing of mobile networks sites by operators du and Etisalat.

The committee will preside over the sites sharing mechanism and practice rules among the operators.

One of its first moves has been to establish a timetable on the deployment of the joint statements.

The two operators currently share some 30 mobile sites across the UAE.

The regulator said it expected the number of shared sites to triple before the end of the year, with more than 200 sites under study for sharing.
