The Windows Awards 2007 website has gone live, providing readers and ITP.net visitors with the opportunity to vote for their favourite IT products and companies, as well as win tons of prizes.

The website - available at www.itp.net/windowsawards - includes information on the event and a link to its Reader Voting survey. Readers can cast their vote in eight distinct categories, ranging from Game of the Year to Top Technology Retailer of 2007.

This year the event boasts three new categories. The first two include Best Internet Service Provider and Gaming Console Leader, which sees Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony go head-to-head. The third one, ‘Windows' blog to beat', gives online users the opportunity to vote for their favourite blog, be it regional or otherwise.

To enter the survey, voters need to be logged into ITP.net. Prizes on offer include a 1Gbyte Sansa MP3 player from Sandisk, a Razor gaming bundle, a multi-function printer from Samsung and Linksys' Kiss 1600 network media centre worth over US $350. The last day for readers to cast their vote and enter the prize draw is Saturday, 25 August. The awards will be announced during Gitex Technology Week.

Last year's event - Windows Awards 2006 - saw FIFA World Cup 2006 walk away with Game of the Year and the Toshiba Qosmio win Best Consumer Notebook. Meanwhile, Intel's Core 2 Duo CPU was awarded the ‘Product of the Year - 2006' prize.
