The Information Technology Association of Jordan, int@j, is returning to GITEX Technology Week for the seventh year running as it looks to help give valuable exposure to ten of its up and coming ICT players, and in doing so boost the country's technology sector as a whole.

The industry-support association's mission is to promote the advancement of such organisations on both a local and international level, and Dubai's massive technology exhibition plays a key role in this latter development.

"GITEX Technology Week helps our SMEs in the IT industry to compete regionally," says int@j's CEO, Sabri Tabbaa, "so it's helping our economy from that point of view. It gives them great exposure through which they can make agreements, set-up joint ventures and more."

The ten companies that will be found at int@j's Jordanian Pavilion represent a wide-ranging mix of ICT organisations, from telco providers to channel players. "It's really an interesting mix this time around," Tabbaa states, "we should be hosting for instance a call centre company - CrysTelCall - that's opened for business recently in Jordan, another company called KETAB that develops state-of-the-art human-computer interaction technologies, plus telco solutions provider Globitel."

In addition to giving these firms the opportunity to hold court at its Pavilion, int@j is also hoping to offer the ten companies a dedicated networking event at which they can meet the companies they are most interested in doing business with.

"This year we're hoping to host a business matchmaking event," Tabbaa explains, "which should take place on the third day of GITEX Business Solutions. This reception will allow our members to network with others from around the region that operate in the same fields. We'll be contacting these companies direct to come and take part, so that they can meet Jordanian firms that are relevant to them."
