HP Middle East's imaging and printing group (IPG) will focus on helping business customers cut their print costs this September as its GITEX Business Solutions team details the array of intelligent management options and services available with its business printing devices. The company's personal systems group (PSG) meanwhile will showcase its brand new smartphone family, with which it aims to leapfrog its competitors in the handheld space over the next twelve months.

"Gartner studies show that by pro-actively managing a printing fleet, a business can reduce its operational costs by up to 30%. Certainly at the CEO level, this aim is the first one that we hear about and discuss," states Amr Hassan, HP IPG Middle East's general manager. Therefore from a business printing perspective HP's staff will be on hand to discuss concepts such as balanced deployment. "On the key topic of fleet management," Hassan says, "we'll have a team of experts on hand to talk customers through the best strategies."

The newly appointed general manager of HP PSG in this region, Serdar Urcar, believes that while his company is currently a leader in the laptop field - with a massive 35% market share in the UAE for example - PSG does have ground to make up in the handheld device space. His outlook is positive however, as he is confident the firm will make a huge impact this September when PSG's team showcases its long-awaited new sleek handheld, the iPaq 500 series.
