GULFCOMMS 2007 will offer France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications (FTMSC) one of its first opportunities to present it new brand - Vizada. The launch of the brand marks a new beginning for the firm as an autonomous provider on the mobile satellite communications market. The former FTMSC was acquired by funds managed by Apax Partners SA on October 31 last year.

The core of Vizada's strategy centres on developing partnerships with distributors. Being present in worldwide locations and leveraging the expertise of a long- term player, Vizada aims to provide even better support in the distribution of this portfolio through its partners.

Vizada offers distributors one of the most complete offerings on the market, combining the maritime and land-based services of all leading mobile satellite operators (Inmarsat, Thuraya, Iridium and others) with airtime, hardware, in-house developed applications and customised solutions. Many solutions are specifically created to facilitate and accompany Vizada's distributors in their business. The provider is expected to use GULFCOMMS as a platform to be able to communicate the vision of the new brand to the market as a whole.

Vizada also recently launched SkyFile Access, a simple, secure and cost- effective solution enabling users of Inmarsat mobile satellite terminals to optimise data transfer. SkyFile Access provides a direct, seamless internet connection for end-users operating in areas with limited access to terrestrial telecoms infrastructure. SkyFile Access is available on all Inmarsat terminals.
