Apple's iPhone, launched into the US market during the second quarter of this year, has yet to be given an official Middle East launch date, but Pro Technology founder and CEO Jamal Maraqa claims the device will be available in the Middle East as early as the month after this year's exhibition.

"Apple has said the phone will be launched in this market in November or December but I think the device will be available before that," he states.

Maraqa, who will be displaying the device on his GITEX Business Solutions stand, adds that the device should retail for approximately 10%-15% more than the US price tag of US$500. "The iPhone is scheduled for an October launch in the European market and as soon as that happens we should have access to those stocks and we'll be able to bring them to the market," says Maraqa.

In addition to the iPhone, the company will also be showcasing a number of other regional firsts such as a mobile memory drive with a capacity of 250Gbytes.
