Deutsche Börse has awarded the hosting contract for its newly opened Eurex access point in Dubai to eHosting Datafort (EHDF).

Eurex, which recently set up shop in Dubai International Financial Centre, will also use European service provider Interoute for its international connectivity.

EHDF, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding, signed the contract with Deutsche Börse Systems to manage the German company's infrastructure for its Eurex portal in Dubai, which traders use to access the central German exchange.

"Deutsche Börse Group is a highly reputable company in Europe and the world. Its choice of eHosting DataFort to support it in its entry into the Middle East is a testimony to the fact that we have managed to create a great reputation for ourselves not just within the region but beyond it as well," said Mohamed Fouz, chief executive officer of EHDF.

"Our role in assisting a Europe-based global company's expansion into the Middle East region will further leverage our standing in the international market," he added.

Jens Leuchters, country manager of Interoute in Germany and Austria, said: "We are very excited to go along with Deutsche Börse in their market entry at Dubai, the booming metropolis of the Middle East. Deutsche Börse, as a key player in the stock market area, needs to exchange business critical information in a very timely manner between Deutsche Börse's access point in Dubai and the headquarters in Frankfurt.

"By using our state of the art next generation network infrastructure and the Layer Two network connectivity, we ensure that this happens in the right time and at the adequate service levels," he added.
