Mitel has added Saudi outfit Apral International to its distribution roster and revealed it expects the firm - which boasts more than 100 technical support staff on its books - to be the first port of call for Saudi resellers looking to implement its 3300 CX (i) platforms among SMEs.

"The availability of faster broadband access is becoming a major component of the IP adoption by many SMEs and it is in such climate that Mitel's CX continues to demonstrate its value propositions providing effective control of cost and business process improvements," commented Hisham Amili, general manager GCC at Mitel.

Mitel claims there are no longer any market-barriers in the Kingdom in terms of regulation, IP awareness or aspiration for early adoption, creating the ideal conditions to promote the benefits of VoIP among small businesses. SMEs account for more than 60% of the Saudi market.

According to Mitel, both companies plan to embark on joint marketing efforts and dedicated fieldwork to increase the rate of VoIP adoption.
