Netgear has revealed that it has raked in sales of more than US$2m during its first six months of operations in the Middle East. The company claims its innovative and user-friendly range of products — covering key areas such as wireless networking, LAN hubs and switches and VoIP — has been a big hit with customers since its launch.

“The phenomenal growth of the wireless market in the region signifies the advanced level of technology use here in the Middle East,” commented Ahmad Zeidan, channel sales manager at Netgear Middle East. “According to market analyst ABI Research, Wi-Fi enabled consumer electronic devices are expected to grow to 249 million units by 2011, up from 40 million this year.” Netgear is still on the look-out for more partners to help it maintain its growth.
