The InterContinental Hotels Group has announced plans to install Digitron's DigiTrak wireless temperature monitoring solution at its upcoming Dubai properties.

Already installed at the Crowne Plaza Dubai, the wireless system can be used in line with HACCP regulations to ensure continuous recording of temperature and humidity data from fridges and freezers at the properties.

"Every installation of this system provides the ability to collect and process even more information, including qualitative data for cleaning schedules, temperature probing of foodstuffs on arrival at the site, and ad hoc procedures throughout the store," said Alphonsa Sebastian, director of food safety and hygiene, InterContinental Hotels Group, UAE and Qatar.

Eliminating the need to manually record data, the system from Digitron not only saves time and manpower, but also means the scope for human error is reduced, Sebastian claimed.
