|~||~||~|The entries have been flooding in thick and fast, and it’s almost time for the next stage of the NME Awards. And now it is almost time for the readers of Network Middle East to play their part in the awards. It’s been a busy few weeks – we’ve seen a lot of high-quality entries for the Network Middle East Innovation Awards 2007 come in. The NME team is now in the process of collating all of the entries, and will be submitting them to our judging panel very shortly. But a crucial part of our judging panel is you – the readers of NME. In the print edition, and shortly online, you will find the entries for the reader-voted awards, including best vendor and best integrator. The highlights of the reader-voted categories, however, are the two implementation categories, which look set to be hotly contested this year. Between the two categories – best wireless network implementation, and most innovative use of new technology – we received seven high-quality entries from around the Middle East. Details of these will be announced soon, so keep an eye out in your inbox for information on how to vote. In the meantime, our eminent team of judges will be looking over the rest of the entries, and having seen the nominations as they’ve come in, the judges are not going to have an easy time deciding. Again, we have seen an excellent spread of entries, and some genuine effort has clearly gone into many of them – it has been very gratifying to see the levels of enthusiasm from a lot of the companies and individuals who’ve entered. We’re now in the final stages of this year’s awards, and the ceremony on 2 April will be the culmination of a great deal of effort from across the region’s networking industry. For those of you who were not able to submit nominations, for whatever reason, now is the time to start planning for next year’s awards. Keep an eye on the hottest new technologies, and the most interesting projects – and get them ready for the next round of nominations. It’s never too early to begin your own countdown for the NME Awards… Eliot Beer Editor, Network Middle East||**||
