Apart from loads of free content such as news, articles and features, the site also offers a paid-service through which subscribers gain exclusive access to game demos, cheats and patches. Gamespot also offers excellent in-house reviews and fully-fledged guides covering all the latest gaming platforms such as PC, PSP, Xbox 360 and the soon-to-be-launched PS3. There’s also a must-read test of Nintendo’s new Wii controller. Overall, an excellent one-stop-shop for gaming enthusiasts. ||**||www.ve3d.com|~|ved55.jpg|~||~|VE3D.com offers the latest news on PC, PSP, PS3 and Xbox 360 gaming. The site also provides cheats for popular titles such as Quake 4 and Dead or Alive. Also on offer are a wide selection of in-depth game reviews. Although the site loads fairly fast, its interstitial advertising is quite annoying. That aside, the site does offer a number of comprehensive gaming guides, some of which you can download to your PSP. If you wish to take a sneak peek of a new game, trailers are also on offer. All-in-all, a bookmark-worthy site for gaming guides and the latest news, covering everything from game releases to industry gossip. ||**||www.shacknews.com|~|shacknews556.jpg|~||~|If you’re looking for a gaming site that offers news, reviews and then some, shacknews.com is a good place to start. In addition to tons of news stories and game tests, the site also contains some interesting interviews with game creators and industry experts. We recommend for instance the site’s interview with Michael Fitch, senior creative manager at Titan Quest. Shacknews.com is also home to interesting features on developers and trends in the industry. Although the site’s layout is in need of improvement, its quality content makes up for this. All in all, a great site for wannabe industry insiders. ||**||www.actiontrip.com|~|actiontrip45.jpg|~||~|Actiontrip.com is probably the wackiest site in our line up. Its “What we lack in quality, we make up for in stupidity” motto is far from promising, but we were very impressed by its quality. The site offers a huge number of cheats and trainers (these are small apps that can give you more money, ammunition or health, depending on the game you’re playing. And who doesn’t want that?). Actiontrip.com also provides up-to-date coverage on gaming exhibitions such as the hugely popular E3. On the whole, a great choice for gamers looking for that highly sought-after extra edge. ||**||
