Luckily, your days of searching are over, as Windows details eight websites that get the job done... offers up-to-date news on PC, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360 games and more. The site also provides cheats for popular titles such as Dead or Alive and Gods of War. Also on offer are a wide selection of in-depth game reviews. Although the site loads fairly fast, its interstitial advertising is quite annoying. VE3D also provides some nifty game guides. Overall, a bookmark worthy site for up-to-date gaming news covering everything from game releases to industry gossip. ||**|||~|shacknews.jpg|~||~| If you’re looking for a gaming site that offers news, reviews and then some, is a good place to start. In addition to tons of news stories and game tests, the site also contains interviews with games creators and industry experts. The site is also home to interesting features on developers and trends in the industry. Though the site’s layout needs improvement, its quality content makes up for this. All in all, a great site for industry-insider wannabes. ||**|||~|actiontrip.jpg|~||~| is probably the wackiest site in our line up. Its “What we lack in quality, we make up for in stupidity” motto is far from promising, but once we had reviewed the site we were quite impressed (by its quality that is). The site offers a huge number of cheats and trainers (this is a small app that can give you more money, ammunition or health, depending on the game you’re playing). On the whole, a great choice for gamers looking for that sought after extra edge. ||**|||~|gamespy.jpg|~||~| If you enjoy multi-player gaming then is perfect for you. The site is basically ICQ for gamers and features its own Gamespy software, which lets you chat with other users and set-up online games in quick time. Beside this, the site provides news, reviews and a huge collection of screen shots for popular games (however these are sometimes interrupted by a number of intrusive ads). Advertising aside, this is multi-player gaming heaven.||**|||~|firingsquad.jpg|~||~| Looking to build a killer gaming rig but don’t know which components to use? Then hit to check out their wide selection of hardware reviews covering everything from graphics cards to CPUs. If you want to build the ultimate gaming PC, the site also offers a feature that details which components do the job. Unlike, this site doesn’t offer many cheats. However, it does feature forums offering technical help for gamers. In a nutshell, a handy site for hardware reviews and gaming advice. ||**|||~|1up.jpg|~||~| is an info-packed gaming resource providing news, reviews and features (including a list of the top ten most popular games of the month). Registration is free and offers you a customisable webpage, your own blog in which you can rant about the gaming world, and a forum where you can meet and exchange games with other users. If you want to team up with these cohorts, it also boasts tons of clubs such as light-hearted ‘Gamers who work too much’ club. In short, a good site for those looking for an interactive gaming experience.||**|||~|happypuppy.jpg|~||~| Despite its rather cheesy name, is a serious game site. It boasts a huge file library containing demos, patches and mods that will clog up your internet connection for weeks. Developer tools are also available for those interested in coding games rather than playing them. Gameplay videos also let you judge a game before you decide to buy it. If you want quick access to the latest gaming grub, the site also splits new releases into categories, saving you search time. A good site if you wish to keep up-to-date instantly. ||**|||~|gamespot.jpg|~||~| If you want tons of gaming info under one roof, has its house in order. Besides loads of free content, the site offers a paid-service through which subscribers gain exclusive access to game demos, cheats and patches. Gamespot also offers excellent in-house reviews and fully-fledged guides covering all the latest gaming platforms such as PC, PSP and Xbox 360. The site also boasts cool round-ups such as Games of the Year. Best for those who want to know the A to Z of gaming and are uninterested in site hopping. ||**||
