|~||~||~|Bekaert, the metal transformation specialist, is aiming to find Middle East takers for its latest filtration system composite units. The Bekaert 018040Xm Pressure Vessel, which was on show at the Big 5, is designed for use as housing for membrane filtration elements to purify brackish waters.

The Belgian-based trading company is targeting hotel developers requiring filtration composites for swimming pool filtration equipment, the developers of water treatment plants, desalination plants and sewage treatment centres.

“Desalination is an important requirement in the Middle East because water needs to be treated. It’s definitely a growing market in the Middle East because as the population grows, so does the demand for desalination and the equipment that goes with it,” explains A. P. Karunakaran, sales manager, Bekaert.

Bekaert’s latest product has been designed to meet the standards of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and Section X, and is able to work in pressures of up to 600 lbs/in2. This means that the 018040Xm is certified for the Middle East market, with Bekaert confident that the product is a necessity rather than an added extra.
