The UAE’s second telecoms operator du has been hit with the resignation of some senior staff recently, though it is not believed to be part of a wider exodus of management figures. CommsMEA has learnt that in recent weeks, du’s head of human resources together with the vice president in charge of IT at the telecoms provider have both resigned. It is understood that the head of human resources has gone to assume a new role within the Dubai Internet City community, while the vice president of IT resigned for personal reasons. Du has faced a challenging market entry since launching commercial services in February. Late delivery of SIM cards, patchy coverage and dropped calls, even in the built-up areas of the UAE, have been amongst the concerns raised regarding the development of the network.
