Intel has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education in Jordan to develop an advanced online training program for teachers in the Kingdom. The agreement, which was signed during the World Economic Forum, will see the Ministry of Education and the chip giant work together to develop a program around three areas: teaching strategies, teaching models and learning styles. “A solid education does not only benefit the students. Down the line, the same students will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on their community. Through collaborations such as this, we can ensure that all measures are taken towards establishing a bright, unique and educated generation,” Dr Khaled Toukan, minister of education, Jordan, said as the MoU was announced. Set to be launched in 2008, the program will be available free of charge for all teachers in Jordan. The initiative follows the Jordanian Ministry of Education’s earlier adoption of the Intel Teach Program, which has resulted in the training of more than 36,000 teachers in the Kingdom to date.
