Security provider Trend Micro has appointed a new channel account manager for the Middle East and North Africa region. Zacky Vaz, formerly of distributor Tech Data, assumes the role addressing Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan. “This appointment is part of our continued investment in personnel and proof of our commitment to an expanded service in the region,” said Justin Doo, managing director MENA at Trend Micro. In his new role, Vaz will be managing channel partners, focusing on new business and achieving set quarterly targets. Based in Dubai, he will also be responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers and providing partners with strategic guidance and prompt updates regarding development in Trend Micro products and technical enhancements. ”Recurrent and often spectacular successes throughout the 2005 to 2006 financial year have generated growth and increased channel awareness, placing demands on the organisation,” claims Doo. “Capable professionals such as Zacky Vaz are essential to charting a path through these new challenges,” he added. Vaz says he is optimistic about the prospects Trend Micro has to offer and is eager to drive its growth in the region. “I'm looking forward to driving the channel in this region and taking Trend Micro to greater heights,” he said.
