Major regional operators such as Etisalat and du will be out in force at GULFCOMMS 2007. Forming a key pillar of GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2007, GULFCOMMS will once again bring together the leading lights of the mobile, fixed, IP and satellite sectors at this year’s show. Launched in 2006, GULFCOMMS is already the largest telecoms event in the Middle East. “As those in the Gulf markets’ telecommunications sectors continue or prepare for the process of liberalisation, GULFCOMMS is ideally placed to give both new and existing players the right platform from which to really reap the most benefit from these opportunities,” stated Helal Saeed Al Marri, the director general of Dubai World Trade Centre. Major names such as Etisalat, du and Alcatel-Lucent will once again ensure that GULFCOMMS is the place to be come September 8th, 2007 for everyone associated with the regional telecoms sector. GULFCOMMS, which will once again be located in Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), will showcase the latest in telecommunications, networks, mobile communications and applications, next generation networks, IP technology, satellite communications, VoIP technology and infrastructure solutions. Last year’s inaugural GULFCOMMS attracted close to 23,000 attendees with 337 companies from 49 countries exhibiting at the event. With the regional telecoms sector in strong health and the process of deregulation and liberalisation in full swing, interest in this year’s GULFCOMMS is expected to surpass last year’s highly successful launch event. With a series of seminars and conferences planned to run alongside the main event, GULFCOMMS 2007 will offer attendees a comprehensive forum for discussion, business networking and deal making.
