GITEX Shopper & Consumer Electronics Expo returns for its 17th edition in 2007. The showpiece event, which takes place at the Airport Expo Dubai from the 6th to the 12th of September, is firmly established as the leading technology retailing event in the Middle East market. An incredible 132,000 visitors spent a massive US$23m at last year’s highly successful event. Reinforcing Shopper’s one-stop-shop credentials, this year’s event will also include leisure and lifestyle electronics alongside IT, consumer electronics (CE), digital mobility, office automation and gaming kit. Organisers claim that this year’s high energy GITEX Shopper will ‘tingle your techno senses’. GITEX Shopper’s regional appeal continues to go from strength-to-strength. The event has a well-established track record of attracting buyers from the GCC, North Africa, the CIS and also the Indian subcontinent. The event has expanded its product footprint in recent years, recognising the growing importance of the consumer electronics space, as digital convergence becomes a reality in the Middle East.
