New GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK set to wow industry

More than 130,000 visitors attended GITEX Dubai 2006. This year's show looks set to attract even more ICT professionals. It’s back and promises to more exciting than ever before. From the 8th to the 12th of September 2007, GITEX Dubai will once again become the global focal point for the ICT industry. Organiser Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has revamped the Middle East’s premier ICT event and will launch GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK this year. The new look show complete with industry led conferences and seminars, taking place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), will comprise of three highly focused events: GITEX Business Solutions, GULFCOMMS and Consumer Electronics Last year GITEX, pulled in 130,000-plus visitors with 3,269 exhibitors from 79 countries showcasing their solutions. GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2007 looks set to smash these records as global interest in the Middle East ICT market intensifies. Major exhibitors include Acer, Verger et Delporte, Brother, CA, D-Link, Epson, HP, Oracle, SAP, Secureway and Sybase at GITEX Business Solutions, and the likes of i-Mate, LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony at consumer electronics. Whilst visitors to GULFCOMMS can see Avaya, Alcatel Lucent, du, Etisalat, France Telecom, Korea Telecom, Nortel, TRA plus many, many more. As the phenomenal growth of the Middle East ICT sector continues unabated, this year’s GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK promises to offer exhibitors and attendees even greater benefits through an increased focus on specific industry segments, which DWTC is confident will deliver a targeted and dynamic strategic platform for business success. A recent IDC report predicted that ICT spend in the Middle East would top US$45 billion per annum by 2010 – up from US$30 billion in 2006. This rapid growth continues to attract the attention of a global audience as manufacturers, suppliers and service providers look to the emerging markets of the world to fuel their next wave of growth. GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK will also introduce the inaugural GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK Global Conference, in strategic partnership with DIC featuring a series of conferences and seminars, allowing industry professionals a unique opportunity to network with their peers and find out more about the latest technologies and solutions available in the market.
