Cisco lends partners a hand with recruitment efforts

Networking vendor Cisco has launched an innovative scheme to help partners across the Gulf region fill their job vacancies. Cisco, which claims it is vital for resellers to find qualified talent for the purposes of business continuity and growth, says its ‘Referred to Partners’ scheme will aid partners in their recruitment.

Networking vendor Cisco has launched an innovative scheme to help partners across the Gulf region fill their job vacancies. Cisco, which claims it is vital for resellers to find qualified talent for the purposes of business continuity and growth, says its ‘Referred to Partners’ scheme will aid partners in their recruitment efforts. The vendor receives a large number of CVs and resumes from job applicants on a daily basis, many of which are from highly skilled and talented candidates. The Cisco Gulf channel team claims it is now engaging with its leading partners and the Cisco recruitment team to collate a list of Gulf partner job vacancies that will be shared with candidates. “I recognised that in order to grow Cisco, we can do so by taking advantage of an opportunity to help our partners,” said Adrian Taylor, regional channel manager at Cisco Gulf, who instigated the scheme. “With Cisco in the position it is we feel almost a responsibility of care towards to employees and partners. So obviously I was keen to leverage anything that we had to our partners’ benefit,” he said. Taylor revealed he approached each of Cisco’s leading partners in the region and asked them to send a list of their open job opportunities, to engage with Cisco’s own recruitment team to involve the partner opportunities as part of its standard process. “It’s important to make sure that our channel partners have the right kind of talent working for them because ultimately they’re the most important part of our delivery,” added Taylor. While the initiative may look as though Cisco is offloading candidates that it deems not good enough for its own business onto partners, the vendor claims that the initial response it has received has been encouraging. “The feedback has been excellent in that it’s been perceived by our partners as a true step towards working with the right people,” said Taylor. “This way, I believe we are helping the candidate to secure a job that matches his profile, reducing his job search time, and helping address a partner’s resource need,” he concluded.
