Telecoms outfit and satellite specialist DETASAD has been providing complete turnkey, consultancy, operation and maintenance contracts across the Middle East for over 20 years. The company is showcasing its extensive portfolio of solutions and services at this week’s GITEX Saudi Arabia. The Deutsche Telekom Group subsidiary, which counts key Saudi government institutions such as the Ministry of Post, Ministry of Information, and the Saudi Communications Commission among its clients, and claims to be one of the biggest companies in the Middle East information and communications technology (ICT) market, having now executed over 50 contracts. DETASAD’s complete portfolio covers a vast array of service and solution arenas including microwave links; radio communication systems; broadcasting stations; fibre optic networks, and also satellite networks. DETASAD is driving forward in 2007 with its turnkey very small aperture terminals (VSAT) solutions and the company intends to use this year’s GITEX Saudi Arabia to demonstrate its VSAT products and services to potential clients in the Kingdom. DETASAD installs the VSAT transmission equipment directly at the end user’s site, connecting to customer equipment and providing them with voice, data and video services. DETASAD is highlighting its flexibility through a range of price points for its satellite services including both flat-rate and volume dependent charges. The company divides its solutions into two main areas: corporate network solutions and office connect solutions - the latter targets major enterprises with small branches in multiple locations, while the former addresses the needs of blue chips and top-sized enterprises with at least two locations in different regions. DETASAD places particular emphasis on providing full customer support for all of its VSAT clients, from initial planning stages through to ongoing support for countrywide business communications infrastructures. The Saudi-based company has its network operations centre (NOC) located in Riyadh, offering satellite solutions chiefly for its Saudi customer base.
