IT powerhouse IBM claims to see a huge potential for its IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions in the region, citing that large organisations in the Middle East are beginning to focus on integrated IT infrastructure management. The vendor claims its highly integrated set of ITSM tools are designed to accelerate the connection of people, technology, and processes, which will improve operational efficiency, and is building its hopes up regarding its success. “More Middle East customers are realising the importance of having an integrated, flexible IT infrastructure to adapt to constantly changing circumstances and we have been encouraged by the response to IBM’s ITSM solutions in the region,” said Bashar Kilani, software group manager at IBM Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan. “ITSM helps organisations better manage their IT infrastructure and deliver service excellence through a structured approach that reduces errors and manages risk,” he added. IBM’s ITSM solutions consist of process management products, service management platform, operational management products and IBM’s ‘best practices’ consulting services. The vendor claims these solutions help businesses automate and standardise the way they design and integrate information technology within an enterprise, and expects businesses in the region will take well to it. The vendor reckons the solutions will be instrumental in allowing large organisations to respond proactively to change, manage complexity and reduce costs. “Today’s businesses need to respond quickly to change in order to drive growth and differentatiation in increasingly competitive markets and so a flexible IT foundation is definitely required,” continued Kilani. “IT Service Management helps businesses automate and integrate IT processes across all areas of operation, allowing them to offer high quality services to their customers while saving time and money,” he concluded.
