NetApp believes its new Riyadh office is a positive step towards the company’s commitment to local customers and partners. The company is one of several vendors opening offices in the Kingdom, giving customers the chance to optimise the returns on their infrastructure investment through the implementation and delivery of value-added software and services. NetApp has announced the opening of a new office in the business centre of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company believes the new office will give it a physical presence in the biggest single market in the Middle East, and enable it to better serve the storage and data management needs of enterprise customers in the country. Headed by managing director Sulaiman Al Assaf, the Saudi Arabian team will report directly to Martyn Molnar, regional area director MENA at NetApp. The Riyadh office was officially opened on March 5, 2007. “We are very excited about this new office in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By opening up an office here, we are further increasing our commitment to local customers and partners,” explained Molnar. “We believe that a permanent local presence is vital in enabling us to effectively serve and meet the challenging demands of data-intensive industries such as oil and gas which are particularly well developed in the Middle East,” he added. NetApp’s Saudi Arabian office is its second branch in the wider region with the company’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) operations run from its office in Dubai. The addition of the Riyadh branch strengthens the company’s presence in the MENA region as it looks to consolidate its position in key verticals such as oil and gas, financial services, telecommunications and public sectors. Egyptian software and services firm ITWorx announced recently that it too would open a new office in Riyadh. ITWorx specialises in a number of areas including portals, business intelligence and SOA solutions as well as application development outsourcing.
