Saudi Arabia is in the midst of a connectivity boom, and companies such as GITEX exhibitor Electronic Saudi Network (E-Saudi), are perfectly positioned to exploit it as they deliver solutions throughout KSA. The highly-experienced consultants and integrators at E-Saudi already have a prestigious list of projects to their name, and are set for further success as the Kingdom’s enterprises and communities feel the need for even more comprehensive data and voice connections. E-Saudi are specialists in difficult and demanding wide area networking (WAN) solutions, often utilising high-tech and highly-robust equipment to conquer the challenging terrain Saudi Arabia can offer. Anwar Shwaikh, a project manager working for E-Saudi, describes an implementation in the mountainous region of Ta’if, connecting nine military hospitals across the area. “The region is very difficult, with lots of mountains - the distance between each node goes up to 30km, with mountains in between,” commented Shwaikh. “It was a very tough experience; it was the first time we had dealt with the situation where we had two nodes, and in between a mountain that is only four to five metres lower than the nodes.” The wireless mesh network deployed by Shwaikh and his team in this situation had to be able to cope with the tough demands of the Saudi military - one of the most demanding end-users in the world. The main purpose of the network was to transfer large image files, such as X-ray and CTC scans. The demand for such solutions is increasing, and not just in high-end military environments. E-Saudi has deployed wireless networks for public events across Saudi Arabia. As increasing numbers of remote communities feel the need to be connected to the internet and the Kingdom’s IT backbones, the requirements for carrier-grade WAN solutions will continue to grow in the near future. E-Saudi claims that it can supply clients with a viable option for providing connectivity solutions - even in the toughest conditions.
