Technology and services giant Xerox Corporation has long been committed to GITEX Saudi Arabia, and since the Kingdom's market still holds vast future business potential for the global printing and document management powerhouse, it is attending the show again this year to shout about its huge range of solutions and services that it can offer customers. Visitors to Riyadh are discovering two Xerox-branded booths at GITEX Saudi Arabia 2007, hosted as they have been for the last five years by the firm’s master distributor Computer and Communication Systems FZE (CCS). “GITEX Saudi Arabia is an ideal forum for us to reaffirm Xerox’s leading position in a market that holds huge potential for the company,” commented Ayman Mattar, Xerox Middle East’s regional marketing manager. The company’s 60-square-metre double-decker show stand this year showcases a display of Xerox Office printing solutions catering for the needs of both the corporate and also the small and medium business market segments. Xerox’s second show booth meanwhile is utilised this week to sell products to consumer buyers through its prime location within this year’s retail-focused GITEX Shopper exhibition. GITEX KSA plays two important roles for Xerox: on one hand it allows the firm to showcase its latest product and solution releases; plus it is also an effective networking and new business tool, according to the company’s management team. Mattar explained: “I strongly believe that GITEX KSA is the right place to highlight the Xerox solutions that have been recently launched in the market and the perfect opportunity for existing and potential customers to experience first-hand the solutions we have on offer.” “Over the last few years, we have experienced many leads that have been generated during the show,” he added. Many serious deals that are negotiated and closed following the event have been based on leads generated during GITEX Saudi Arabia itself. As far as Xerox’s future growth in the Kingdom is concerned, Saudi Arabia remains a key territory within the wider region and represents one of the company’s biggest national markets in the entire Middle East and Africa region. “Our business projections for the Saudi market reflect our positive approach and investment in the Kingdom, and participating in an important IT event such as GITEX KSA is an illustration of this,” Mattar said. Proving this Saudi focus is the fact that Xerox, via its partner CCS, has recently signed up major power retailers across the Kingdom, such as Electro, Carrefour and Geant, in order to further promote and sell its personal laser and multifunction products. These new routes to market open up a significant channel for Xerox to reach the Kingdom’s burgeoning SMB segment. With consumers also spending increased amounts on home technology, having Xerox products within these retail outlets offers multiple business benefits to the company. Xerox Corporation is a US$15.7 billion technology and services enterprise and offers product solutions ranging from the very smallest office printer to the largest production colour printing system.
