Swiss cabling solutions provider Reichle & De-Massari’s (R&M) regional boss, Laurent Amestoy, has set his sights on the company becoming the region’s premier layer one cabling provider. With a quarter of R&M’s Middle East revenue currently coming from the Saudi market, appearing at GITEX KSA forms a key part of the company’s intended growth strategy. “We are taking part in GITEX Saudi Arabia because we believe it’s the ideal forum to primarily support our partners and customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Amestoy, R&M’s general manager for the Middle East and Africa. “We are looking to heavily promote our latest cabling solutions, which cater to the growing demand for modern data and communications networks solutions,” continued Amestoy. The need for adaptable and cost effective IT solutions in the Middle East is crystal clear, Amestoy asserts, and he claims that the region’s vibrant property development sector is driving this growth due to the sheer number of bulk investments being made across the region. “Because we are able to provide this market with our top-range cabling solutions, we feel that we will be able to benefit those in the region with the desire to improve and expand,” he said. R&M, which leads the market in Switzerland and is present in 16 further countries across the globe via its subsidiaries and agencies, concentrates its efforts on four major fields of business: carrier, enterprise, industrial and residential cabling. “Our competence lies in the manufacture of connection and distribution technology for copper and fibre optics networks,” Amestoy explained. “This year at GITEX Saudi Arabia we are showcasing a diverse selection of our latest cabling solutions including our leading 10 Gigabit Ethernet range, security system and carrier cabling solutions.” 10 Gigabit Ethernet cabling technology is, as Amestoy puts it, “The new dimension for the local data network and allows you to tap into the vast potential for information and communications.” He predicts that 10 Gigabit Ethernet will soon dominate communications, from enterprise desktop and backbone use to forming part of large-scale wide area networks. Amestoy goes on to describe the firm’s security system meanwhile as ‘revolutionary’. Built with copper and fibre optic connections firmly in mind, he claims that this technology ‘prevents misconnections and really guarantees maximum network availability’. On the carrier cabling front, R&M’s carrier solutions have been developed to increase network security through what Amestoy describes as, “convenient installation and easy maintenance”, both of which support interruption-free network operation. “The Middle East has been the fastest-growing region for us with an increase of over 90% in sales in 2006, year-on-year,” he concluded. “The Kingdom has itself contributed to more than 25% of this income, making it a key market for us.” R&M is looking to continue its sparkling track record of growth within the Kingdom and the company’s appearance at this year’s GITEX Saudi Arabia is spearheading the vendor’s ongoing efforts.
