The Ethernet Alliance recruits vice commander

The Ethernet Alliance has elected Extreme Network's Harpreet Chadha as its technical committee chair and vice president of technology.

Extreme Networks has announced that the Ethernet Alliance has elected Harpreet Chadha as its technical committee chair and vice president of technology. Harpreet Chadha is director of product management at Extreme Networks, where he oversees product development of scalable Ethernet switching solutions aimed at helping enterprises and carriers build intelligent, cost-effective networks. “Harpreet Chadha’s active participation and technical role with the Ethernet Alliance helps further its mission of taking Ethernet technology to the next level. "Vendor cooperation is essential to the greater goal of promoting Ethernet to its full potential with customers, vendors and in the standards community,” said Chris Moore, regional director ME & Africa for Extreme Networks. Formed in 2006, the Ethernet Alliance promotes industry awareness and the acceptance and advancement of technology and products based on existing and emerging IEEE 802 Ethernet standards. It focuses on the entire spectrum of network users and applications, from those of telecom carriers, to corporate enterprises, to consumers. Extreme Networks has heavily participated in essential Ethernet standards bodies and vendor alliances, including the IEEE 802.3ae high-speed task, the Gigabit Ethernet Alliance, the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance, the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) and the Ethernet Alliance.
