Kuwait-based Jazeera Airways, a private scheduled airline, has selected SITA to provide it with a comprehensive communications and performance monitoring system. The company has invested US$1.5 million into the project and expects the new service will enhance the aircraft communications capabilities of the airline as it expands over the next ten years. The VHF Aircom service will cover Jazeera’s expanding aircraft fleet and enable clear air-to-ground communications, real-time engine and aircraft performance monitoring, resulting in reduced turnaround and ground times. Abdulla Al-Hudaid, VP Engineering, Jazeera Airways, said, "We chose the SITA VHF AIRCOM solution as we believe it offers superior service and systems functionality along with a convincing projected return on investment. "This will allow us to reduce costs, enhance communication capabilities and gain greater process efficiency in the management of our brand new fleet,” Al-Hudaid said. SITA’s AIRCOM solution is also fully compatible with the AIRMAN Airbus Maintenance programme, which Jazeera Airways implemented for their fleet of A320 aircrafts. "Jazeera Airways is constantly innovating and understands the need to have the latest technologies in place, to maintain a competitive edge. We are very pleased to be playing a key role supporting their strategy.” “With our AIRCOM solution, Jazeera Airways will experience further cost reductions and greater process efficiency, benefiting both the airline and their passengers," Hani El-Assaad, SITA regional VP Middle East & Turkey, concluded.
