The countdown to the second hotly-anticipated Windows Gaming Championship (WGC) has begun. Building on the huge success of last yeart's UAE event, the 2007 contest will span three Gulf states and feature a regional final. The first event of this year's three contests will be held in Kuwait City from May 10 to 11. The second country event, which is due to attract hardcore button bashers from both Saudi Arabia and nearby Bahrain, will then take place in Al Khobar, on May 30 and 31. Last but certainly not least, the UAE competition will be held in Dubai on June 22 and 23. In addition to the standard two-day contest, this final UAE leg of the WGC gaming tour will also see Saudi and Kuwaiti finalists flown in for the regional grand final. As with last year's event, which featured hundreds of avid PC players, contestants will compete for thousands of US dollars in cash prizes. The games to be played during each country's two-day event this year are Pro Evolution Soccer - representing the competition's individual competition - and CounterStrike Source, the second day's four-player team battle. Look out for contest schedules and details of how to enter - coming shortly - at www.itp.net/wgc
