Infrastructure powerhouse Fujitsu Siemens has strengthened its strategic alliance with storage giant EMC. The two companies, speaking at European IT trade show CeBIT, have announced their intention to create a new services framework for advanced data centre architectures. Fujitsu Siemens and EMC will also increase their levels of collaboration for supporting technologies. IT Product Services (ITPS), Fujitsu Siemens’ services arm, has joined the EMC authorised service network, providing services for EMC midrange networked storage solutions sold in EMEA by Fujitsu Siemens. This allows ITPS to deliver advanced EMC information services, which complement and enhance Fujitsu Siemens’ dynamic data centre capabilities. The increased co-operation between Fujitsu Siemens and EMC coincides with the 10th anniversary of their strategic alliance. “Customers are rapidly moving to next-generation IT architectures and they’re demanding best-of-breed technologies that are integrated and well-supported. Together, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC will deliver information infrastructure solutions that meet customer needs and help customers exploit new technologies to improve business efficiencies,” said Joe Tucci, EMC chairman, president and CEO. “What makes the Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC 10 year relationship unique is the historical breadth and depth of our broad collaboration in technology, services and solutions.” “Today we’re taking one of the strongest partnerships in the industry, and bringing it to a new level for the benefit of our customers. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is firmly established as EMC’s second largest reseller worldwide, and with EMC’s leading information infrastructure solutions our storage business continues to grow faster than the market,” said Fujitsu Siemens CEO Bernd Bischoff. “EMC’s excellent levels of customer service are known across the industry – so it is a huge endorsement for our ITPS division to be entrusted with servicing specific EMC midrange networked storage solutions sold in EMEA by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Achievements like this are helping to drive the profitable growth of our ITPS business,” he added. The two companies will focus heavily on storage, management and protection technologies to deliver customers a complete suite of next-generation virtualised IT infrastructure. The mutual collaboration will also result in an expanded set of advanced solutions for SAP customers, according to Fujitsu Siemens. Fujitsu Siemens claims that the announcement is a stamp of approval for ITPS, which it acquired in April 2006. Bischoff continued: “The immediate benefit for our customers is ITPS gains deep and valuable knowledge on EMC midrange storage solutions to deliver complete end-to-end solutions. We are honoured that our achievements in working closely with EMC have been recognised in this way, and we look forward to the next 10 years of working closely together.”
