USRobotics has strengthened its Middle East channel by forging a partnership with solutions provider Universal Concepts. The company will act as the networking vendor’s regional distribution partner for duty free and airline sales. Universal Concepts will supply a wide range of USR kit to airlines and regional airports, including routers, wireless networking equipment and Ethernet switches. It will also carry the vendor’s latest 9640 USR Mini Cam for Skype. “USRobotics is fully aware of the expansion properties afforded by experienced channel partners,” said Sumit Kumar, regional manager for the Middle East and North Africa at USRobotics. “Our relationship with Universal Concepts will extend USRobotics’ market by adding a valuable sales channel for our consumer IT products. Travellers now have the benefit of purchasing USR products — duty-free — in airports and on select regional flights, enabling our customers to stay connected at home, in the office or while out of town,” concluded Kumar. Abhishek Bose, general manager at Universal Concepts, added: “We are delighted to be representing such a globally recognised brand as USRobotics. We look forward to entering into creative marketing programmes with airports and airlines in the region to make USRobotics the vanguard IT brand for the travelling shopper.” In addition to distribution, Universal Concepts also manufactures its own range of consumer electronic products and focuses on providing IT solutions to the hospitality industry. The company specialises in duty free and in-flight retail, and is the dedicated distributor for ASUS and HTC mobile phones, as well as its own range of products, at a number of airports and airlines worldwide.
