Networking vendor 3Com has appointed Hamed Diab as its country manager for the Middle East region. Diab — who joins the company from HP — will be responsible for managing 3Com teams, defining strategy and driving sales across the region. Diab is well educated in the Middle East channel having spent five years at HP in a variety of positions. This included regional manager for HP’s Personal Systems Group in the Gulf and Egypt, Image and Printing Systems Lead in the Middle East, and country sales manager for HP Iraq. Prior to that he was responsible for growing Compaq’s sales in Kuwait, Yemen, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, and he also enjoyed a stint as sales manager at Al Alamiah Electronics in Saudi Arabia. “3Com is committed to investing in and expanding our technical resources, sales and partner management, and service and support teams in this region,” commented Diab. “We have a rich history of providing innovative solutions for organisations in the Middle East, including Aspire and Arab National Bank, and we will continue to contribute to the success of local customers.” His view is echoed by Gavin Zacky, 3Com’s regional sales director for the Middle East and Africa: “3Com is committed to providing the highest level of service and support to customers in the Middle East, as well as maximising the tremendous growth opportunities across the entire region,” he stated. “To this end, we have identified a country manager with extensive local knowledge who is focused on customer satisfaction, operational excellence and developing innovative solutions that benefit our customers and partners,” added Zacky.
