Clustered storage provider Isilon Systems has launched a new training programme for resellers and end-users across the EMEA. In an effort to improve channel and customer engagement in the region, the vendor has enhanced its SmartPartner programme by adding two new certification tiers. Registered partners can now apply to become an ‘Isilon Certified Clustered Storage Associate,’ which is aimed at sales and support and system integrators can apply for ‘Professional status.’ Partners in these categories will be supported by an enhanced modular training programme which includes a two-day course covering application deployment, support procedures and more advanced solution design and implementation. Isilon is also launching new training courses for end-users, which focus on practical hands-on installation and management sessions, as well as theory on data migration strategy, security and data resilience. Training for customers will be free-of-charge and partner training will be heavily subsidised, according to the vendor. Rob Anderson, consultancy and training manager EMEA at Isilon, said: “In the short time since our launch in EMEA, we have seen Isilon clustered storage move swiftly into European data centres as enterprises seek to unlock the value in their digital assets accelerate workflows and reduce costs. Our new certification levels and training programmes will further support our partner network as they deploy our products into customer environments across our core geographies.” The vendor claims that the training has been introduced on the back of increased awareness and demand of its clustered storage products. According to Isilon, customers have begun requesting tailored training and tools to increase operational efficiency using its products. The move follows a recent drive by distributor Zycko to recruit channel partners on behalf of Isilon in the region.
