Worldwide nVidia launch partner XFX has just launched its new line of 320Mbyte GeForce 8800 GTS graphics cards. XFX is targeting gaming enthusiasts on a budget with its latest offerings. Three different variants of the card are available for purchase; Standard, Extreme and the top of the line XXX Edition. The standard card will follow nVidia’s reference specifications and run at core and memory speeds of 500MHz and 1.6GHz respectively. The Extreme and XXX Edition meanwhile will run at speeds of 560MHz and 1.7GHz and 580MHz and 1.8GHz. Extreme and XXX Edition cards will also ship with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter while stocks last. The GeForce 8800 GTS GPU is nVidia’s second fastest GPU, behind the GeForce 8800 GTX, but thus far 8800 GTS cards were only available with 640Mbytes of GDDR3 memory. All GeForce 8800 GTS cards are DirectX 10 compliant and offer full support for Shader Model 4.0 graphics. This means that game titles coded to these graphics standards will appear exactly how the developers wanted them to look when played on these cards. XFX’s 320Mbyte GeForce 8800 GTS cards are expected in stores across the region by the end of next week.
