The UAE franchise of IT retailer CompuMe has launched a promotion to shift 250 specially-imported Alienware gaming PCs. Aimed at hardcore gamers and power users with plenty of cash to spare, these 'Superman Edition' desktop systems are thought to be the first Alienware PCs to arrive on the UAE market and feature 1.86GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 160Gbyte hard disks, DVD burners, high-definition audio cards and 256Mbyte ATi Radeon X1800 VGA cards. The firm began its Superman promotions today with an e-mail shot targeted at its existing customer base. Superman systems retail for approximately AED 9,999 each and are pre-installed with Microsoft’s Windows XP Media Centre OS. Alienware was bought by Dell in 2006, however the firm has not yet officially followed Dell into the Middle East market.
