Abu Dhabi government deploys new payment system

The Department of Finance (DOF) in Abu Dhabi has announced the launch of a payment consolidator to process transactions for Abu Dhabi government departments.

The Department of Finance (DOF) in Abu Dhabi has announced the launch of a payment consolidator to process transactions for Abu Dhabi government departments. Developed by Etisalat, the payment consolidator will organise and integrate all departmental transactions with DOF’s online financial systems. The Customs Department will be the first to go live using the payment consolidator. “The launch of the payment consolidator is a proud moment for etisalat and demonstrates the considerable expertise developed by us in providing comprehensive payment solutions and positions us as a significant service provider in the ICT solutions domain,” said Abdulla Hashim, VP marketing for enterprise solutions at Etisalat. “We are very pleased to be supporting the department of finance’s objectives and we look forward to working closely with them in proactively deploying and managing the payment consolidator for various government departments,” he concluded. The solution will support various modes of payment including credit and debit cards, as well as, cash payments made through DOF counters and other authorised establishments. Mobile and bank originated payments made through Etisalat’s eZeePay system will be added in the next phase of the project. National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Union National Bank have joined forces with the department of finance and etisalat to offer payment authorisation and settlement services to support the solution.
