Online Distribution is strengthening its presence in Saudi Arabia in an effort to develop the company’s product portfolio and focus in what it deems as the region’s largest IT market. The value-added distributor has recruited the services of freight forwarding company Aramex to provide third party logistics support for its partners in Saudi Arabia whilst adding a new layer of partner services for resellers across the Middle East by providing them with direct link to a team of specialist sales and product experts. Venu Menon, director at Online Distribution, said: “Saudi Arabia has a number of leading manufacturing and utility companies who are early adopters of new technology and use information technology to fuel their diversification and economic growth into new sectors. Saudi Arabian organisations, while being focused on reducing costs, are more interested in increasing their agility and extending resources needed to meet customer demands. The Kingdom is a focus market for us this year and this will allow us to introduce an extensive range of products and solutions to our partner base.” Online currently has a depot in Bahrain which works to support the partners in Saudi Arabia with substantial stocks from a host of vendor partners including Symbol Technologies, 3Com, Juniper, Extreme, APC and Corning. The distributor claims that it has taken time to understand the Saudi market and the values of prospective partners in the Kingdom. It asserts that there are huge growth opportunities for IT vendors and resellers and has employed the services of Aramex in order to capitalise on this potential. “Key to the success of this operation is being able to offer delivery in real time. We will back up our product offering with good logistics support,” added Menon. The distributor, which provides resellers with a number of value added services, including technical support, partner relationship management, consultancy, training and professional services support, is now also providing them with direct links to a team of specialist sales and product experts. These steps have been taken in an effort to enhance its service to partners. Online has stated that it will aim to work closely with vendor and reseller partners to drive deep integration skills into the system integrator and service provider community. “Working with our vendors, we aim to demonstrate the collective strength of the latest generation of network technology solutions on offer. Our role is to facilitate access to some of the most advanced, best-of-breed networking solutions for companies in the Middle East though our value add distribution model,” concluded Menon.
