UTM appliance vendor Cyberoam is carrying out a five-day partner training programme in Egypt for resellers in the region. The programme, which runs throughout the course of the week, is being undertaken with the support of local Cyberoam distributor GateWorx. Cyberoam claims that the five-day programme will arm partners from Egypt, Libya and Saudi Arabia with complete information on changing threat scenarios and the network security needs of enterprises. Harish Chib, VP marketing at Cyberoam, said: “Cyberoam’s partner training programme is designed to strengthen the technical and security expertise of our partners. Identity-based internet security enables enterprises to create security policies in accordance with their business requirements while maintaining high levels of threat protection. The programme’s focus is on training our partners to understand enterprise requirements and help them create security policies accordingly.” The vendor claims that the training empowers partners with an understanding of how its products identify the user and thereby eliminate anonymity within networks. This offers a clear view of usage and threat patterns for identity-based policy implementation for its customers, according to Cyberoam. Mohamed Haroon, general manager at GateWorx, said: “The programme helps partners to deploy Cyberoam’s identity-based security in accordance with customer’s security requirements thus providing proactive defence against emerging internet threats especially in the mobile world.” Cyberoam’s UTM appliances link user identity to security and are deployed to customers in corporations, educational institutions and government organisations in the USA, Middle-East and the Indian subcontinent. Egyptian distributor GateWorx offers products and services in markets such as Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and the UAE.
