Six Chinese construction workers died and scores were injured in the crash, which happened on the Abu Dhabi bound carriageway of the Sheikh Zayed Road, near Mall of the Emirates. A spokesperson for China State Construction Engineering Company said: “We don’t know much at this stage. No compensation has been announced as yet and we are waiting to hear back from the investigations.” The Chinese Embassy in Abu Dhabi said it was not dealing with the case and that its consulate in Dubai was handling the details.
