Wamad International, regional distributor for Matrix42 IT management software, has struck an agreement with managed hosting, technology and security services outfit eHosting DataFort, to provide end-user remote management services to companies across the Middle East. Wamad, a regional IT and professional services company, will use eHosting DataFort as a partner for the sale and deployment of Matrix42’s Empirum Suite, which allows the remote management of end user PCs, notebooks, PDAs and other devices. “Empirum’s uniqueness is in its ability to manage heterogeneous infrastructure. The tool is completely hardware-and-operating-system independent, which gives it a distinct advantage in the world of today,” said Graham McIntyre, Wamad’s business development manager “With Empirum there is absolutely no need for imaging and this dramatically cuts the service delivery cycle. We are proud of this major achievement in partnership with eHosting DataFort and we look forward to working together with them to extend the remote end-user management service to other customers in the region,” he added. According to McIntyre, there has already been a positive response to Empirum in the region with the first major customer expected to be announced shortly. The Empirum suite of management software for networked devices allows companies to manage servers, desktops, laptops and mobile devices in a highly efficient and organized manner. The suite simplifies and automates tasks for IT staff and provides greater management control through increased productivity and reduced costs. “This partnership with Wamad International enables us to expand our customer base within the UAE and in the entire Middle East and Africa region,” said Saeed Al Barwani, eHosting DataFort’s CEO. “Our service offering for existing customers will be greatly enhanced with this partnership. Not only can we ensure efficient server management and security, we are now in a position to efficiently reach to every other client in our customer organisations, thus delivering cost savings and return on investment to our customers,” he concluded. Under the terms of the agreement, eHosting DataFort will use Matrix42’s Empirum products to manage new software releases, test and lunch new patches and manage the inventory of hardware, software, licenses and operating systems. eHosting DataFort claims that Empirum will allow it to remotely control any user device, including the ability to restore user workstations automatically after hardware or operating system failure as a result of user settings and personal configurations.
