Two leading aircraft interior design companies have joined forces to create a luxurious VIP outfit for the new Boeing 787. Lufthansa Technik, the leading provider for VIP and executive jet solutions, and Andrew Winch Designs, which previously designed the Airbus A380 interior for a private owner, recently showcased their new Boeing 787 design to potential buyers, VIPs, and private aircraft owners in Dubai. “Together with Andrew Winch Designs we are taking up this idea of maximising the experiences offered by the extraordinary act of flying, and designed a total experience in the air, not just a beautiful environment,” said Walter Heerdt, senior vice president marketing & sales at Lufthansa Technik AG. The design features a separate 10-seater dining and meeting room, two en-suite guestrooms, a VIP bedroom and a movie theatre featuring fully reclining armchairs, chaise lounges, and a sumptuous sofa. The seating in the latter can be rearranged to form an entertainment or bar area, where passengers can relax and enjoy the flight. A master stateroom has separate bathroom with circular shower unit, private office area with desk and library, and a separate sitting room. The latter two features can be separated from the rest of the stateroom by curtains or screens. The front of the aircraft has a lounge area that provides seating for 12 people, including coffee tables that can be converted to dining tables to provide more dining options on the aircraft. The lounge can also be converted into a majilis-style seating area with its own 50-inch plasma screen television.
