Linksys is fine-tuning its strategy for small business customers at GITEX this week, showcasing a wide range of networking kit. David Kelly, Linksys director of sales for EMEA, said: “We now have a full portfolio of products to address the needs of small businesses and we have seen considerable interest from customers and resellers during the show.” Mohammed Meraj Hoda, regional manager, MEA at Linksys, added: “We have a clear go-to-market strategy for both the connected home and also the connected office. Developments such as mobility and voice over IP are driving demand for Linksys’ solutions across MEA.” Linksys sales have skyrocketed in the MEA theatre, more than doubling during the last year. “Everyone is now talking about the digital home,” added Kelly. “We’re really moving to a stage where home networking is a plug and play solution for consumers. What we are doing now is focusing on making this a reality in the small office segment as well.” “Linksys is a division of Cisco and we have benefited from the investments the company has made through the acquisitions of companies such as Kiss, which moves us towards the consumer electronics space as well,” continues Kelly. “We have witnessed tremendous growth in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and also markets such as Kuwait and Bahrain.” Linksys is also getting ready to make some noise in the voice over IP (VoIP) space in the UAE. “We know that there is the possibility that the regulatory environment could be relaxed in the UAE,” explains Hoda. “Linksys has a clear VoIP strategy that has been used in other parts of the world. We also have strong relationships with operators in the UAE and we are already having preliminary discussions with them on how we can take VoIP solutions to market if the regulations are relaxed.”
