HES Cabling Systems (HCS) has three new launches on show this week, and while the company views the GITEX experience as an invaluable networking event, it’s sights are set on newer pastures, as regional manager Aizaz Karjikar told the GITEX Times at the show. “We come to GITEX every year as it provides an ideal setting to launch our new product lines, with everyone from the industry all under one roof,” he explains. “At the moment we are serving the entire Middle East from our Dubai hub, but by the beginning of 2007 we will be expanding our operations to South and West Africa.” Karjikar sees unlimited potential in these new markets, drawing parallels with the Dubai and GCC markets of several years ago. “The markets in Africa are developing rapidly now and are at the beginning of a boom time. We have studied the markets extensively and believe that the time is right for us to tap this growth.” HCS has built a strong presence in Dubai and the Middle East region as a whole over the last four years and now, with a number of prestigious projects under its belt, the company’s reputation proceeds it, according to Karjikar. “HCS is now a GITEX veteran, and people have heard on the grapevine about our involvement with certain projects, so we have already had a good deal of interest at our stand this year,” he says. “We hope that in a couple of years our reputation and market share will be just as strong in these new markets.” The new products on display at the HCS stand include the HCS DataLink 500A Category 6 Products and the DataLink 1200 Category 7 Products, which promise to deliver greater speed and improved connectivity across copper networks. Also being showcased is the HCS DataLight Fast-SC Connector, a two in one solution for staggered clamping to the outer coating of fibre networks. “With a connectorisation time of less than 30 seconds, including preparation, this field installable connector makes other connector termination methods appear cumbersome, time consuming and expensive,” Karjikar claims.
