Egypt-based IT company, Advanced Computing, has announced two new additions to its product line-up, making its debut at GITEX 2006. The firm has launched version 4.0 of its Advanced Library, an online solution for corporate and university libraries, alongside new venture WebPharma, an e-commerce solution aimed at distribution companies within the pharmaceutical centre. Advanced Computing software powers a number of Egypt’s premier sites, including the country’s largest recruiting site and first online bookstore. With the launch of WebPharma, the firm is set to add another first to its belt. “WebPharma is a B2B solution that allows pharmacies to put orders in 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” says general manager, Omnia Taher. “It manages the customer accounts and enables users to measure the performance of sales representatives and delivery agents.” The latest edition of Advanced Library also offers a host of new activities. “Advanced Library Release 4.0 complies with the Anglo-American classification standard, reads Marc records, adds two new authority lists and fully supports Dewey classification,” Taher said. “It comes with built-in Arabic and English subject headings and provides all circulation functions through the system portal, including renewals.”
