Wireless solutions company, Techxact, has announced that it is close to signing deals with the Jordanian and Qatari royal family. Although the deal with the Qatari royal family will be signed before the end of GITEX, Techxact expects the deal in Jordan to be finalised next week. “It is just a case of signing on the dotted line, so we are very excited,” comments Mehdi Paryavi, president and managing director, Techxact. “We have worked with a number of governments in the past, offering wireless and technology solutions.” The Jordanian deal — for the city of Amman — includes a bulk infrastructure package offering wireless and software solutions, as well as a data centre, enabling the city to be completely independent from outsourced companies. “Jordan is really coming out of its cocoon, with a lot of projects and developments currently underway, especially in Amman and around the ports,” comments Anwar Rashid, business development partner, Techxact. In a region where cities are developing at a rapid rate, Rashid also adds that wireless technology is the ideal solution, as it creates minimal disruption to current and existing projects. “When building an infrastructure you have to go to the roots; go underground, and this takes time and money. However, with wireless it is completed in a matter of days and requires no work or excavation, so it really does save money,” he adds. Although this is only the company’s first time at GITEX, it has already seen a good response to its product, and sees the show as an ideal chance to meet new and existing clients. Rashid also adds that it is an important time to be in the market, with so many cities and areas coming online, including Abu Dhabi, and new projects in Dubai like the Marina and the Business Bay. “It is not just the UAE that is growing, but the whole of the Gulf region, and with our headquarters in Dubai’s Internet City, we are in the ideal location to offer customers our services,” comments Rashid. “Our company has only been in the Middle East for two years, but there is a lot happening here,” he adds.
