Dubai-based Windows Mobile device vendor i-mate is working on an exclusive and free software application that will help its UAE customers make the 050 number changeover with ease. From December 15th, due to the launch of the UAE's second telco Du all mobile phone numbers will need to be dialed using the prefix 050, which could potentially mean users having to spend hours amending mobile phone contact numbers on their handheld devices. i-mate's technical team however is working on a proprietary software program that will work with Windows Mobile to help its customers add 050 to the start of UAE mobile phone contacts in 'batch' form (rather than changing each and every number in turn). At the time of writing, no publishing date for i-mate's free 050 app had been confirmed, however i-mate owners are recommended to keep an eye on the firm's customer website for further details. Owners of non-i-mate devices looking for a quick and easy way of changing their contact numbers should read Windows Middle East's exclusive feature found here.
