Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) is boosting its blade offering for enterprise customers at GITEX today. The infrastructure solutions powerhouse is launching its dynamic, self-managing technology platform for Microsoft-based computing in the Middle East market and is expecting an incredible response from enterprise customers wanting to minimize IT costs and maximise business agility. Gunther Aust, senior marketing manager enterprise server business at FSC, says: “This is an end-to-end solution targeted at larger midsize and enterprise customers that combines FSC’s fully virtualized Primergy BladeFrame servers with Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM), a central management tool for Windows-based applications. This concept provides data centre managers with greater system flexibility and enables them to ensure that their IT infrastructure continually achieves the highest levels of availability to match varying resource demands.” FSC’s new solution makes dynamic resource allocation a reality in the data centre allowing unprecedented control of blade servers. “FSC is now offering a truly dynamic data centre offering where the blade server basically becomes stateless. Customers can take advantage of end-to-end provisioning. This allows customers to increase service levels and boost their business agility. FSC claims that its new whizzy enterprise offering will offer peace-of-mind for companies whose businesses depend on the use of Windows-based applications such as SQL Server, Exchange and also SAP. “This is a technology that the CxO level employees really appreciate,” continues Aust. “While many infrastructure vendors are still talking about dynamic datacenters, FSC is already delivering this technology. Any applications built on Microsoft platforms benefit from the fact that they can be managed using MOM.”
