Image solutions provider Visioneer UK Limited is marking its first-ever appearance at GITEX with the launch of its new RoadWarrior solution, which is aimed at the region’s travelling professionals. According to Visioneer, RoadWarrior is an easy-to-use, yet powerful mobile scanner for handling all the document needs of the business traveller, from expense receipts to business cards and all types of documents. The scanner - which can be connected to any computer via a high-speed USB 2.0 interface - boasts a resolution of 600 x 1200dpi and features 36-bit colour. Meanwhile, the bundled business card program provides capture, text recognition and can export data to popular contact managers, PDAs and smart phones. “Today’s road warriors demand that every item in their bag do double or triple duty and it needs to integrate with their existing tools. We designed the RoadWarrior to handle business cards, receipts, expense reports and business documents,” says John Capurso, vice president of marketing at Visioneer . Visioneer also announced today that it has signed a major distribution deal with US search-giant Google Inc to bundle Google Desktop and Google Earth with its new scanners. Google Desktop is a client application that allows users to easily search their PC, providing full text search of e-mail, music files and more. “Visioneer UK recognises the profound impact that Google has had on the industry as a whole and we’ve added these powerful search, indexing and mapping apps to enhance our product line,” adds Capurso. Apart from mobile scanners, Visioneer UK also specialises in a variety of desktop models. This GITEX, the British firm hopes to recruit additional distribution partners and promote its latest range of Visioneer strobe scanning devices. “This is our very first time at GITEX and we’re very confident that it will be a success,” Capurso concludes. Visioneer is located in the UK Pavilion - one of the biggest international pavilions at GITEX this year.
